Save A Sister
Breast cancer is the most common cancer among Montana women. Yet only 42 percent of women in Montana over age 40 receive screening mammograms. This is well below the national average.
The Save A Sister initiative is a collaboration among Northwest Healthcare, North Valley Hospital and the Flathead City-County Health Department. Goals are to promote breast cancer awareness through outreach activities, distribute educational materials and raise funds to improve women’s access and understanding for screening mammography. Save A Sister also supports post-operative durable goods that often are not paid for by insurance. All funds stay in the local area.
